Yeah, that sucker works, and trust me, we DO need them. Ask Faithofadragon, his is full of gunk.

Personally though, if you are gonna do one, spend 20 bucks and get one of the NICE looking ones on Ebay.

exess oil/mist recirclates back through you intake via a hose thats hooked up close to the throttle body. It is definantly not good to have that gunk keep recirculating back into your intake so this goes between that hose and filters that air so its cleaner. You can mount it anywhere on the back of your firewall is where I would put mine

 

sometmes the crankcase can get pressurized and spew oil, so it needs an outlet. car manufacturers are forced to re-route it back into the intake, because we cant have oil dripping all over the roads. this will allow you to take out any oil that would otherwise get into your intake.

redz, the ones on ebay are rediculously big. we definately would not need them on our cars, unless you are boosted. i dont think i could sacrifice that kind of engine space, when this smaller one will work fine. using the smaller one, you MIGHT have to empty it out once every two weeks.

 

Some of them are big, yes, but they are light.

Not to mention, I'm gonna need some;thing to put where my battery is now.

 

oh yeah, the amount of weight is miniscule. im just talking about space. didnt know you had a battery relocation planned though, so yeah, you will have room. smile.gif

 

well i posted this in the other Oil catch can thread but its more suitable here

you connect it to the breather hose correct..which is like 4"

also what size fitment and hose would you guys recommend

 

Nice DIY..... but I prefer the RedZman Option,.... get one on Ebay..... it has a better look, and include all the additional hardware like hoses and mini clamps...
