haha... I read Baller's post and thought to myself, "damn, this is hard to comprehend" but I kept struggling since there aren't many recent posts.

Baller - we've attempted to help you before. Please consider Stocker's suggestions, as he's 100% correct.

That was unnecessary. Provoking members or taunting them is bad taste and you posted off topic. Heres your sign...

Edit: cleaned up off topic posts.

I've never changed a cv axle before and will be changing mine this week. I was wondering if you just pound the ball joint and lower control arm back together with a hammer after you've used pickle fork to separate them when your putting everything back together?

I removed the axles from both sides of my car withOUT separating the LCA. Pull the two bolts holding the knuckle to the strut, and you will have enough play to remove the differential end of the axle. With that end free, you could remove the spindle end. You should get an alignment after doing it this way, but you needed one anyway.

^ I mentioned that in post #14 above.. but why do you need an alignment? The holes for the strut bolts aren't slotted or anything, it'll go back in the same position..

As long as we're not starting new threads let's rehash stuff already posted 02.gif

If your alignment is off as badly as mine, you will have a camber bolt in one or both of the strut tower/knuckle mounting holes.
If you have somebody else helping you remove parts, they will fail to take note of the orientation of the installed camber bolt you got as part of the deal when you paid $200 to a professional alignment shop . . . 02.gif

So to sum it up, everybody who changes an axle should get an alignment because YOU have a camber bolt?

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Stocker @ Sep 23 2009, 05:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>. . . but you needed one anyway.</div>

My car has had 1 alignment done, ever. If other people are (cheap) like me, they need an alignment also. You don't know if you need a camber bolt until your car gets up on the rack (or somebody pulls your camber bolt for you).
