That tranny oil is usually about the same color as engine oil as it goes in, a bit clearer, but it gets pretty dirty too, especially if it's been a LONG time since its been changed.

yo stocker i get clickin sounds from turnin steerin wheel certain way usually @ slow speeds only. but i wander if the noise is from my wheel bearing or the bearings inside of the cv axle; cuz i had 2 replace both outer boots months back from older 1s bein tore & grease spillage. i figured dirt/sand got inside the cv joint & was causin the noise when turnin but now that u posted this torque spec topic 4 bearing preload im 2nd guessin...

Replacing the boots when the grease is already long-gone is a good way to waste money. Sure it can get you a few more months, but if some grit got into the joint it's done. It's been grinding away in there for months with every turn of the wheels and the clearance is now getting large enough to make audible clicking noises. If you turn in a constant-speed circle in one direction at low speed and it clicks, that's almost a diagnosis for a bad CV joint.

Jack up the front wheels and tug top/bottom and (with someone holding the steering wheel firmly) side/side. The wheel should not have much if any noticeable play. If it does, you may have bad wheel bearings. Run a google search for checking wheel bearings; it's pretty universal stuff.

Note: it may be many more months before your axle fails. Years, even. Now is the time to save for an axle replacement. Save as fast as practicable though, because it could also fail today or next month.

REDZ I deal with juveniles and juvenile writing and behaviours all day (mostly single men where I work). Plus I'm not ancient and decrepit like you so I can read l33t. "Excuse me miss, I speak Jive."

I only read it because it has my username in it. Otherwise it would have gone right past without notice.

b1gb4ll3r, there is no heat. There is only a lack of proper sentence and paragraph structure. If you wish to be taken seriously, write more like a grown-up. Your posts read like the writings of a 12 year-old. Consider: if you can't be bothered to take the time to write a proper sentence, why should anyone else take the time to read it? Remember: nobody on the Internet knows or cares about you. If you don't give your own ideas and questions respect enough to write them out properly, nobody else will respect them either.

Dude. I can type properly just fine. Few just getting anal about nothing. Members have replied to plenty of my posts & personal messages just fine without complaining about the faster, more informal typing technique. It's not even hard to read.

Baller,

please take the time to read the rules: http://www.rdtiburon.com/index.php?showtopic=11231

19. The "Caj" Rule. Leet speak is NOT welcome here whatsoever. if you type things like a55hole or ne1 instead of asshole or anyone, you will be warned verbally, your threads may be closed, and for repeat offenders, you will get a full warning. Grow up and get your message across to everyone. Want to be treated like an adult? Want your thread read? Type like it.

Reason for edit: Added the "Caj" rule

There is no limit on letters here. No need to text or tweet or leet. No one will get on your case if you type correctly. You were handed not only some wisdom but constructive criticism. Take it say thank you and move on. You were also warned more than once for leet speak, and in a short amount of time. I dont think anyone here is a English major but we all try to use words from the dictionary.

Baller (answer): "Oh ok, it does make it easy for people to read and for my questions to be answered. I did read the rules now and saw number 19. Sorry"

Uhm, I didn't "Start" anything, you can't follow the rules, so I did my job.

Say "sumin 2" me if you want to, it won't change the rules. The "Staff" aren't my "buddies", I am good friends with a few of them, but some of us rarely see eye to eye, and even those would agree you sound like an 11 year old.

Lastly, you provide no heat, so I'm not worried about it.

You are warned again, you next warning carries a temp suspension as also stated in the rules, and if you continue to break the rules, we'll just put all of your posts on "Moderator Preview", so your posts won't make it on the site unless one of my "buddies" approves it.

Is that perfectly clear everyone? Good.
