in your pictures, the sensor has much more slack than mine. Will I have to splice the wires and extend them?

Can you show us a pic? Your cables shouldn't be tight there at all. I've got a friend locally with a 2000 Elantra, I can look at his tomorrow.

ive been having this problem with my coupe (british 2.0 2000 reg). i am presuming the above pics is of the european accel sensor?. i had to bend the bracket down to clear the struttbar, but the sensor should now be at the same angle and orientation. just hope it works.

Here's a silly Question, Do i actually tigthen the 2 bolts on the strut bar itself? or is it meant to be loose.
Im talking about the bolts on either side that holds the bracket that we screw into the car.

tighten them, and also do it with the front of the car raised off the ground. otherwise its not gonna be installed correctly. or if u have a cheap ebay one, it really doesnt matter cause its all show cause they use hella cheap materials.
