I did it from the top too, ... Though that infamous bolt in the bottom resonator is EVIL!!
I tried for 5 mins to unscrew it, then started to chisle the damn thing off the bracket!!
I was one screw away from it falling off, then I decided to use Vise grips, ... Blamo, the resonator was off!!

So I suppose my question would be: should the air duct be removed as well? I would think that it would help bring more air in. Also, this isn't really related, but does a ram air hood make any kind of difference in the performance gains after doing this mod? I want some way to make the two holes in my hood useful. Thanks, sorry if I was off topic.
According to REDZMAN from a conversation I had with him, Yes, remove the duct and leave it out.

It's not gonna bring any more air in from the front, if you take that stuff all out, including the lower resonator, you'll have more room in your engine bay, and less heat. Take out the hood seal up front too if you want some extra free cooling.
I'm very new to the performance kind of stuff so I am gonna try this first. This will be my first mod if it's successfull ha. You don't think I need any pictures?
Umm sorry for the double post. I just took out the black waffle looking resonator but thats all I took out (took me more than 2 hours). The pictures won't work so I don't know if i did something wrong and shouldn't be driving it like this. I put the air duct back on and the air filter and airbox liek it said in the instructions. I had to take out the battery pan even to get the big waffle looking resonator out because i couldnt slide it out towards the ground. Somone please reply. I need help and am very worried i screwed something up.
