Im new to virtual machines, i just installed windows 7 with VMware on my Mac. The only reason I installed windows was to run some windows only programs in need for school. I have a question for people who know more than me about VMs, every time I resume my windows VM, VMware ask me if I want to install McAfee anti-virus that I get a year for free through them. Do I need anti-virus in a virtual machine?

A virtual machine is just as susceptible to viruses as a normal machine. However, you can set up a restore point from outside of the virtual machine and revert to that if you get a virus.... Save and Restore the machine state. Personally I don't use antivirus. I just use restore points.
