Yeah, Samsung is pushing their proprietary RFS filesystem. RFS is basically FAT(like your memory stick) with linux extensions of users, permissions, and filesystem support. It's bloated and slow.

Just so you know, Lagfix on any samsung is converting to the standard Linux EXT4 filesystem. It's more efficient.. For some reason Samsung keeps pushing it's RFS pathetic excuse for a filesystem on all of it's devices.

Lagfixs not only speeds up the device, but it also uses less power.

Hey... I was looking at the teardown on that unit...

It looks just like my phone without the shielding.

Here's some cool stuff we've been playing with on the FSA chip on the board.... Your phone has the same chip and same capabilities.

Visionz, i noticed on the teardown of your phone, there IS NO JTAG port.... This means Samsung MUST have a way to reprogram the phone without the use of a JTAG port.

I believe you may be able to load up the Andromeda3 ROM. http://files.teamkom...dallPackage.zip Don't try the kernel, but the FactoryFS should load directly onto your phone using download mode. If it works, your phone will be rooted and have super-powers. If it does not work, then you can flash back using the appropriate FactoryFS for your phone. Here is a link to the Heimdall package for my phone. No gaurantee that this will work on your phone, but it won't kill it if it doesn't, it will only make you have to reflash your ROM. No data loss should occur, it's just a rewrite of the read-only memory.

During development I've now bricked 3 phones. First one was a bad primitive bootloader flash. Second one was a bad secondary bootloader flash. The last one I was probing around with a 3V power supply behind a 1.5kohm resistor on the phone to see if I could change the OM=0x9 value to OM=0XA or higher and thereby make the phone boot from MMC/USB/UART. Well, I sneezed and it blew something up. I probly shorted something.

hey DTN, I was trying to use the Heimdall one click for the infuse and i couldn't make it work. i posted here b/c i don't have any post on xda-dev and wont let me post on the development forums. anyways, i followed all the instructions that you posted here. once i put the phone on dl mode and connect it to the computer and the program recognize the infuse and it says connected, i press flash and it says i don't have the drivers (i do) and i click on it to re-install them and it says its good to go and i click flash again and it keeps asking me for the drivers. i tried it on my laptop but it will do exactly the same. i tried at least 15-20 times. i'm not a noob either, i have 3 Samsung phones (Captivate, Infuse and SGS2) and an HTC Aria and are all rooted and have custom roms.... yes im a phone whore... LOL

It's not joking when it says you need drivers. Samsung drivers are not the same as OpenSource libusb drivers. You need drivers.

I put those diagnostics tools in that program for a reason.. yet the same problem keeps popping up. What do I need to do on that?

When one-click says you don't have drivers it MANDATES an install for you it gives instructions and launches the installer.
