How much memory does your computer have or hold?
Just picked up a new Windows 7 64 bit laptop, but it only came with 4 gig of RAM. Gonna double it and go to 8. Is Crucial (http://www.crucial.com) still a good place to get memory or is there a cheaper/better place?

I have 16GB of Corsair Vengance 1866DDR3 RAM on my Desktop (will hold 32GB), my 4 year old laptop has 4 GB.
I Buy almost all my electronics from Newegg.com anymore.
Crucial is still good brand from what I hear.
8 is plenty for most people

When I get around to building my next gaming machine:

96GB ram (almost twice as much if I for over obscene amounts of money for registered ram.)
I need this because of reasons

Yes. They race for more FPS!
My work computer runs 8GB and 8 processor cores. I don't (ever) use all the RAM OR the processors but it makes me feel like I should have 32GB just so there is a more appropriate ratio of GB RAM to CPUs in the box. But . . . meh. I don't ever get much over 3GB of occupied memory in regular use and probably won't unless we start working with higher resolution images.

I have the AMD FX-8150 in my desktop here, and love it!
I just installed Corsair's H100i Liquid CPU cooler for it too, cuz im too cheap to build my own

It *used to* be quite a beast in its day with a pair of Intel Xeon E5420s. I'm actually happier with the displays than I am the computer itself. Working on four 22" monitors takes a little getting used to but I managed!

I think I may be putting in a pair of E5430s here in a little bit, but digging them out to replace involves moving stuff on my desk so . . . meh.
edit: I looked up that AMD chip just now. It's pretty spiffy.

ahahaha 4x 22" Monitors, send me a picture of that! Currently I have just one monitor, my 47" LG TV
I'm looking at getting a regular desktop size because this big of a screen is kinda odd to use, although after about 10 months I'm getting used to it haha
Not if you all will be able to see the picture, but here it is..
