Gonna get all my stuff this weekend from Home Depot. Soil, seeds, tools, etc. Planning on growing some tomatoes, peppers, onions, and maybe a few stalks of corn. Nothing better than eating your own fresh veggies that you grew yourself.

I use raised beds and moved mine this week. Bought a couple tomato plants trying to sneak them in early. We still have a chance of frost for another month. Suppose to be frost tonight.

I like growing potatoes. You can grow tomato right on top of them. They have some sort of relationship going on.

I heard today that a la nino weather patter may develop. This means cool and wet at least for the midwest.

I have a 8x16' raised bed. Put too much nitrogen in last year. Had plants growing up the side of the house, tomatoes taking over the whole garden, cucumbers taking over the tomatoes and the rest of the garden, okra plants that were 4 feet high, etc. Whoops.

Just tilled it up a week or two ago and went and pulled everything (weeds and volunteers) that came up since then. Probably going to plant next weekend.

At my old house I had a garden that was 40 x 60. I grew okra, squash, cucumber, watermelon, peppers, tomatoes, beans, onions, corn, and strawberries. I'm gonna scale it back for my first year in the new house ( plus I have a small yard as opposed to the several acres of an old farm I used to have). I'm thinking just peppers okra and tomatoes this year but gonna do them from pots. WhAtever I do I'm gonna do it on my off days this week.
