How are they not taking a stance? If they are handing money over to groups that support a political agenda.... Like cobra pointed out, they have that right... and people who do not feel the same way have the right to speak against them and spend their money elsewhere.

Nonono, the question here is WHY does a sandwich chain even have a stance on this? I mean, does every entity have to have some implicit stance on every topic? A fast food chain isn't even sentient.

 

Because the owner is extremely right wing and wants to hand over company profits to groups that are there to suppress the rights of a group of people that have sex that offends him and his religion.

 

Wait, so we ARE or we are NOT *also* mad that Progressive insurance co. give wads of cash to left-wing causes?

And what Left wing causes are based on targeting a way of life that offends someone else's religion but in reality has zero impact on their life? I am not trying to be a smart ass here, I am really asking for clarification. I am not exactly left wing (pro-smaller gov, right to bear arms, military, etc), but I don't like it when any religion pushes itself on others via law or hate groups. Keep it in your church like you should keep your dick in your pants. I don't think this is the slippery slope issue that many are trying to make it out to be... I do not see them allowing people to marry a toaster or their dog, etc.



The sammich people making this a big deal confuses me because this would ONLY lead to alienating a large group of people. Maybe it was a calculated bet that more people who like chicken are religious and would spend more money thereby making up for the difference caused by the pro-gay crowd not coming in? Also, they got a sh*t ton of free advertising. Like the fact their name is on our site and we are talking about them right now. Maybe. I really don't care that much either way, but I am growing tired of those that are defending them making this out as if they only came out and said something. When in reality they are financially supporting hate groups via financial support, that is taking a stance on an issue.. actually it makes them a very big part of it. They jumped into a fight, now those that agree and disagree can deal with it.
