Ok...time for re-clarification. *haha* For some reason, I was thinking that the hinge went down into the firewall, but I just looked at it again a few minutes ago, and one end bolts to the actual hood, and the other end bolts to this small area right by the wiper cowl. So it is definitely replaceable without having to do any welding.
So that leads me to my next question.....anyone know of anyone thats parting out an RD2? I would ask for RD1 or 2, but Im not sure an RD1 hinge will fit a 2. So if anyone knows of anyone parting an RD2 out, hit me up and let me know so I can try and scavenge a drivers side hinge off of them. smile.gif
Thanks....
EDIT:
Here's a pic I found on HMA:

I need the WHOLE hinge....

^ Yeah...I saw that on Ebay. I actually called them and they said they dont stock the drivers side hinge! WTF!?!?! How the hell do you stock the passenger side and not the drivers? laugh.gif
Just as a point of interest this is what a 92 RS Turbo looks like stock..
They dont make them anymore (sadly) because they were f***ing GREAT cars.
The only cosmetic difference (even the color and stock kit are identical) was that he had painted the insets of his rims white and had them polished, but they were the stock 15's sporting yokohamas

It maybe a bit of hi-jack, but it was a great story laugh.gif
I remember the RS Cosworth Sierra 4WD's. They dominated Mount Panorama and the Group N racing series for a few years before the GTR's killed everything, they still have one of the race cars at the Bathurst motor museum. Some of the racers from that era claim that they were the scariest car they had driven, acceleration wise.

Visionz, that sucks what happened, had me even checking my hood hinges, lol. Have you tried ringing wreckers, could get a near new one for next to nothing and would take only a moment to paint up.
