I know this kid Chris who went to my school, and he was always eyeing my car when I drove past him. I hung out with him a couple of times just recently when he asked me what kind of car I drove. I told him I drove an 2000 RD Tiburon. He said that he's never seen one before. So just this morning my brother told me that Chris picked him up in a black 2001 RD Tiburon. All stock. I do not know why, but for some reason it made me kinda mad. mad.gif He couldn't even get a different color!
I guess in time I will learn to appreciate it.

I know exactly what you mean man.
When I got one, no one in my school had any idea what it was. I'd always come to the parking lot and find kids lookin in the windows and stuff.
I got my car in June of 03, and before the summer was over, not only was their another black RD (mine is black!) like mine, there were TWO! So now, in a town of less than 1500 people, there were 3 black RD's.
I;m not in highschool anymore so I'm not around the area too much, but every now and then I still see them, and a silver RD has been added to the mix.
There is also a silver GK, and at least it's modded. The only way of telling mine apart from the others is the AE's and tint. 02.gif

Just the fact that this kid did not know about the 2nd gen Tibs about two weeks ago, and then *POOF* shows up in my driveway revving his engine in almost an identical car kind of ticked me off.
Whatever though. He chose a good car, so I cannot blame him. Low mileage too.. only 35K.
Apparently he does not have the rear windshield wiper? WTF?
Unlike your area Joshuwa, most of the Tibs around here are stock. So from the outside, I at least have the tint/rims seperating my RD from the rest.
He complimented the looks of my Tib, and was also jealous of the leather interior.
He's not the tuner type either, so I doubt his car is going to change much from now till whenever. Cannot wait to get the Tib back on the road and show him up! nana.gif

LOL! In the Metro-Richmond area where I live there are over 800,000 people, and I've only seen half a dozen RDs. But one of my neighbors a few houses down bought an RD1 a while back, shortly after my brother purchased his. He was irked.

I don't want to sound insensitive, but who cares? He got a cool car, maybe he's a fanboy, but I think it's pretty cool that you've got a friend that you can work on your car with that has the same car as you.

I think it has something to do with the fact that such a person can't make their own choice and elects to copy someone else instead. It's weakminded and irritating.
