My bad driving skills
TC... then not this weekend
although i'll be taking the door from ya (most likely, since it IS free [in theory. i'll hook you up w/ a lil somethin]), i'm probably gonna make the claim. its my fault anyways. i'm gonna pay the $500 deductible. i might as well get some money outta the deal.
the most damage is the door. i can pop out the dent on the rear fender (most likely) and the scratches are easily fixable.
i figure get enough money from the insurance claim, and maybe. JUST MAYBE, if i get enough money.... buy myself an Ixion yup.gif
wish me luck.... smile.gif
oh, and Arctic... the fog light/fire pit incident was because i'm a moron. the no e-brake thing was because i'm a moron. and this... well, thats cuz i'm a moron. so, what does that tell you??? lol

Hopefully it's not too late, but DON'T DO THE INSURANCE THING. Take TC up on the door, do your best to bang out the dents, and take it to a body shop to paint the sratches. Here's the deal.
I got in my accident and had to pay out a TON of cash. (1) To fix the guardrail. (2) to fix the fence. (3) to fix the truck I hit, and (4) to total my car. All in all I think my insurance went up $6,000 or something a year the next year. I dunno. Anyway, my sister just got into a fender bender. (rear-ended a lady at a stop light) not too much damage, they didn't call the police. And the insurance never went up.
What I'm trying to say is that no matter what you're insurance is going to go up. Right now, only just a little bit. The cop filed a report that the insurance company can get now that it is public. They automatically raise your rate as you're classified an "at risk" driver now. Sh!tty deal I know.
Now you're thinking about getting some money from them?!?! First since you are now classified as an "at risk" driver, they'll up it anyway. Then when you make the claim, they'll up it again. TRUST ME. This way is SOOOOO much worse than getting a bank loan. You'll end up paying out WAY more money in the end.
And we didn't even touch on how the 4 points are going to hit you as well. I would definitely fight them. Even to get them knocked down to a bunch of minor offences with NO points.
Sorry for your troubles man, I just don't want to see them get any worse.

Its a free door but you gotta help us take it off laugh.gif:
Do you have state farm for insurance? They love sending me money for my car. I've totaled it twice now. They just keep sending me money. But be careful about what you do because it is blantantly your fault. If it weren't so much your fault I'd say go for the money, but you dont want your insurance going through the roof either. If you do take the money though, you get the free door, and then just have to spend a little to get the rest fixed. Then you have all that money in your pocket. Even if they dont total it, its still gonna be quite a bit. Just be careful, dont be hasty and rush into anything.

i've already filed a claim. she's going to anyways against me...
my agent (not the ins. company) pretty much said to me either way i'm gonna pay for this, and i might as well take whatever i can from it.
i'm tryin to talk to a couple ppl i know, see if they can over-estimate things...

hump.gif... i mean bump
i gotta curiousity question
Do i have to pay $500 since this accident was my fault. What i mean is, lets say i'd rather not have my insuarance company take care of the repairs. would i still have to pay the $500 since the accident was my fault? or do i only pay the deductible if i go through with the claim?
this is where i've been confused.... if i don't have to pay any deductible, then i'm not even gonna bother, and i'm gonna take my free door and take care of the other sh1t myself.
thanks

hm... are you paying for the other vehicle also?
If insurance doesn't know about it, I don't see why you'd have to pay a $500 deductible. If it costs less than $500 to fix, don't report to insurance and pay it out of your pocket. If it costs just barely over $500 to fix, still don't report it. If the increase in your monthly payments is more than what you'd pay in the amount OVER $500, then don't report it.
What is the cost of repairing the other vehicle? Get the new door, get the new fenders with flares that are currently for sale on this site, and get them painting. good as new, eh?

i have no idea how much it would cost to get it fixed
i've already contacted my insurance company though. the other driver probably will also
even if i go somewhere to get an estimate, my insurance company is sending out someone to appraise it and such....
so confused
