The original shift knob that comes on a tib is wrapped in leather, once I decided to change the nasty shift boot i decided to get a new knob also. Since i live in FLORIDA, it get extreemly hot and heats up the inside of course. Metal , not being a good insulator keep, the same million degree temperature, even after I cool the car down. Way too often am I using the tiny strip of leather on my shift knob to save my hand from the heat of my shifter. My question, Any one elso have heat problems with all metal shift knobs? What do you do? Shift as fast as you can and hope for the best?

Best thing to do is get rid of it and get a new leather knob.
You seen the OEM ones we sell at SFR? I friggin LOVE mine.
If you HAVEto keep the one you have though, go get a IPOD sock, and keep it in your center console. If it's too hot, put the sock over it, and keep on driving.

yeah i got a sparco aluminum shift knob and in the sun it's scorching and in the winter your hand sticks to it. it's annoying, but hey it looks good haha.
yeah just go back to leather. it's the best.

You have to go back to the old days...........................................DRI VING GLOVES!!!!I wear deer leather driving gloves and they are awesome.Just think everything you touch is leather. And the grip on the steering wheel and the shifter you can not compare to bare hand driving. The gloves are the first mod I got and I dont drive without them.Larrs

COOL, I wonder if i can get some custom hyundai gloves, that be cool maby. AND they won't leave finger prints, and you can smack ur friends when they mess with your pre-sets. Sounds like a idea!

I've got the blue one, feels perfect, matches my KDM dash, and fits on every short shifter I could try it on.

Whatever the standard size is for a Hyundai thread shift knob. I think I have a thread gauge, I can find out if you want.

It's pretty friggin light my man. I'm not sure, but I can weigh it if you want. If you want a weighted knob, there is plenty of room inside to add weight if you want. I've had dozens of shift knobs, and every short shifter I can think of, and my current combo is just HEAVEN.
