Would have never thought of popping the trunk - good advice!

I know this thread was a little old...but since its been revived I have another trick:

go to home depot/ lowes and buy this but in flat form DO NOT GET AN ANGLE! The flat piece can be bent by hand but is strong enough to lift the thumb lock at the inside handle and it slides behind the glass at our door jambs since we don't have full metal frames.

I never leave the house without some protection in my wallet.

A spare key that is.

the ONE time I locked my keys in the car without a spare I had insurance cover it to have some towing company jimmy it. it took the driver an HOUR AND A HALF to jimmy the lock on the tibby, saying, "well you'll never have to worry about anyone breaking into this car." apparently he was just retarded. blah and the worst part was it was mid august and the big driver sweat alllllllll over my driverside window and it took me another twenty minutes to get it clean when he left

Yeah - somebody at my work had CAA, so some guy showed up 30minutes later and 30 seconds of work, I was in. He wedged some little rubber pump thing on the side of the window, pumped it up then stuck in a rod and popped open the lock.

I have since put a key in my broken gas cap. smile.gif
