i'm glad to have that effect ;^) you know what i mean. i meant among their classes.

maybe my perception is out of tune but hey a SEAT Ibiza was a SEAT Ibiza, and not a Civic a decade ago! And they certainly would NEVER throw a WRX badge on any Corolla. even if they tried, the two looked so different from one another.

i guess what i'm trying to say is that if someone bashes on a Hyundai, they're pretty much bashing a human standard, meaning they're bashing every other car as well and therefore making themselves stupid.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I don't see the big resemblance</div>

sh*t radu, that is a fair warning that i will fail my next eye exam sad.gif what if you back away from your computer some hahaha?

pardon!! by human standard i mean if someone is saying "hyundai sucks" they are questioning a minimum standard in order to fulfill the best possible levels of safety standards (4-5 star crash ratings), performance, quality, comfort levels...etc. before the 2000's, cars all had some kind of flaws. now, you buy any car and they barely have any faults. materials are really no different from each other. design elements have reached their maximum capabilities.

^that's a very careless thing to say given you haven't posted at all after me! you do have a point, and are right that nobody seems to be understanding, or backing me up, but perhaps it's something that is going to have to be laid to rest.

apologies, but i don't see how that doesn't make sense. if you bash on a hyundai accent hatchback saying it's "trash", you're basically bashing a honda civic hatch and every other new car like it because they are practically all the same car with all the same standards and same ratings.

dude the guy asked how to shut people up who talk smack about his car.

and you give people a dissertation? it's confusing and so far from what we were originally talking about

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Every day i deal with this..

"Hows gay hyundai?"
"yeah its still a hyundai, not a honda"</div>

and you're on about human standards

accent03, here's your answer. make yours faster and kick their asses. That's how you shut someone up.

HKC, as much as you feel people don't understand the aesthetics of car design, I suggest that you don't understand the engineering of car design. Cars are far more different mechanically than they have been in the past 100 years or so. You can go to the showroom and find a dozen different suspension designs. Pick between gasoline (and ethanol), diesel (and biodeisel), hybrid, or all electric powerplants with hydrogen coming soon and LPG and CNG available for special order. You can find 4-8 gear automatics, CVT, and manual transmissions that rev match on downshifts and that shift themselves mechanically with a flip of a paddle on the steering wheel. You can find front, rear, and a vast assortment of AWD systems with as many as 3 computer controlled limited slip differentials. Cars can come naturally aspirated, turbocharged, supercharged, or both. You can find cars with 100 horsepower and 1000 horsepower.

There has never been a time in history with this much variety available in the automotive marketplace, even if you choose not to see it or to dwell on one particular facet of the industry.
