got a ticket
i recently got a ticket on my way up to pa for a snowboarding trip. i was pulled over by an undercover that said he clocked me at 90 in a 65. i know i was speeding but i know for a fact i was not going that fast because my car starts to shake at 80 and goes away again at about 95 and i wasnt shaking. anyone know of any laws or situations that got them out of a big ticket like this. maybe something about his radar not being calibrated or something of that sort. because right now, the last thing i need is a hefty doubled fine and 4 points on my license. it doesnt matter what state your giving suggestions for because that can always be manipulated. any help would be great.

I got nailed 71 in a 55 last night coming back from the mountains too. Three trucks, mine, my buddys, and some a**hole tailgating my friend behind me all got busted. Says he paced us...Ugh... I just hit the 3-year no accidents/ticket mark too...

In Pa it depends what he used to clock you. only state police can use radar guns, the rest have to clock you using lines on the road aka two sets of white line horizontally.

^for real.
i've gotten out of speeding tickets by going to court (always had the officer show up) and asking for validation of either the gun, or the car's speedo if he paced you, being calibrated. Haven't yet had an officer who was prepared wink.gif

im positive he didnt reduce the ticket. the guy was an a**hole that had me get out of the car, search me and ny car and have me lift my hood. so im going to court pleading not guilty and my plan is to ask the officer for validation that his radar was calibrated. and yes he was a state police.

That's reckless driving right? 25 over the speed limit?
If you want it to go away get a traffic lawyer. You won't have to miss work so you'll make up a bit of the cost there alone, and the lawyer will be 100 times better at defending your case than you would be.

Especially when your defense is "my car wasn't shaking". Id be worried Id challenge his certification and come to find out he was the National Training Instructor for the use of Radar and Laser speed systems as well as one of the lead engineers in the design of laser based systems. Yeah... I would look into defensive driving or probation (depending on how that works in your state).
