Sup fellas.

Well Im pretty much at my wit's end with these headlamps.

They have xenon cheapy non ballast bulbs in that are heck bright, but there are these 'things' inside my headlights that look like cat's eyes or magnifying glasses and theyre dirty and misted.

Np, take them out and clean them right? well according to Hyundai, you cant !

So I says "well that's a pretty stupid design then really, isnt it?" and the dude fires back with "well theyre not expensive anyways"

"Oh?" I replied.. "How much then maybe Ill just buy a set" cue him tapping away at the work's computer and comes back to me with "$298 each"

ROFLMFAO, cheap? do me a bleedin' favor mate.

I mean I didnt want Pie,and chips, for free ('cos that would be pie and chips for free likes) but I didnt want to pay out 2/3 of what the car ran me to be able to see better at night either.

Now, is there a 3rd party way to get these buggers out and give them a buffin and a cleanin' or am I stuck with lowly headlamps that I must run my foggers 24/7 to be able to see farther than 20ft in front of me?

Answers on a postcard please fellarz.

Yes you can clean the lenses if you want to... you'll need to pull the headlights apart though. It's not hard to do if you have a heat gun or you can bake the headlights in the oven for a bit then pry the covers off.

Also, I guarantee that even if you put some stock bulbs in & make sure the aim is right, your headlights will be bright enough. The "HID look" bulbs have a tint on them that diminishes the amount of light that comes through them.

pandy, I pulled my headlights apart to paint them. It was not hard at all. If you want to wait till after Sept 8, I am more than willing to come up and show you the fabled, ancient secret

The xenons I have are white.. no tint whatsoever.

Before they were added to the car you could see about 3ft off the hood, I shit you not.

With them in theyre about as good now as a 80's car.. honestly it's the lense things.

They look like they are completely and totally misted. even with the lights on you can stare right at them and it doesnt leave a flash on your eyes when you close your eyes.. theyre a dingey grey in color with accents of purple and green (theyre utterly filthy mang trust me lol)

The actual outer lense cover is ok, nice and clear but my foglamps are misted heavily (right down in harm's way on the RD1 I see lol) so Im gonna buff the outer lense covers on those.

What's REALLY been pissing me off is some ahole in a H2 or H3 (theres so many round here, rich farmers) will come at me, see all 4 lights on and 'think' he's going to be blinded so he/she turns on his/her highbeams to 'let me know' I mean FFS my lights are so low theyd have to get out and lie on the ground to get them in their face.

And because the tib is so low down you get their fVcking OBTUSE lights right in your eyes totally blinding you.

Sometimes I feel like a fookin ant in this car.. mind you I have fought back with the xenon highbeams and they dont like that lmao.gif

if it is just the lense, you can use a polish to clear up the lense.

www.usplastics.com has a 3 part system that works great. its like "novak" or something like that.
