I agree with the above... if it belongs in 18+ it should not be in an avatar or a Signiture line. I personally think that an Avatar should say something.. not just be a blatant reminder that sex sells.

Ehh. Are we that uptight here in the US now? I know so many folks here in the US that have their heads up their asses about this. I agree, mine is over the line, but that's why I put it there. I wanted to see who'd say something and see if we could have an intelligent discussion about it.

I'd say for this one, we need to have a rule that you can have a avatar of whatever, but it has to follow the forum rules. No anti Hyundai, anti Tib, nothing blatantly sexual, but a pic of whatever your favorite MAINSTREAM movie star is would be okay.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>2. no moving avatar's/sigs</div>

Heh, not gonna happen my man.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>3. and put a limit on sig pic sizes. maybe 100x400 pixels (avatar's are already 50x50 right?)</div>

There is a limit on Signatures. Total of no more than 10 lines of standard text in height.

i work with a bunch of women and i rather not get fired cuz someone had to have a naked lady here</div>

Then do the following at work...

Mine is meant to represent that I like curves. And things that go fast.

Oh, and sluts.

Don't worry, I'm gonna change it...

OK, so I have been following this thread and now feel like I should post.

First off, I LOVE Redz's avatar.

Secondly, it seems to me that people who are having a problem with the avatars and such are complaining because they are checking the forums at work. Its an easy solution guys, turn the avatars and sigs off when your at work. Problem solved and we don't have to keep argueing about it. In all honnesty you probably shouldn't be checking out forums while working anyway.

Thirdly, to anyone else who has a problem with the avatars and sigs, thats cool and I can respect that. However, you need to respect the indiviuality of the people who chose to share such beautiful images with the rest of us. If you don't like them, turn them off. Not seeing avatars and sigs will not in anyway lessen your RDTiburon experience.

I'm out.

No, you completely miss the point. I won't explain again my reasons for wanting clean avatars and sigs, read my previous posts, I explained it 2 times.

Avatars should be there to represent it's owner, as it's way faster to identify the owner of a post by looking at the avatar than to read it's name. It's also kinda "automatic" in the mind to associate the image with the owner. That's why turning avatars off sucks. I currently have them off, because of all the crap you guys got in your avatars, and I'm pissed about it. They shouldn't be there to show the ass of an anoymous actress and/or porn star.

Since you don't read previous posts, here it is again: there's 75% porn on the net. We don't need it here. If you want porn, browse for porn. I come to RD to talk about tiburons, not to look at asses and boobs.

^I have read your previous posts and I did understand them. Don't you think that Redz's avatar describes him? I do, and I don't even know the guy outside of what I read on the forums. Do you really think that 75% of the internet is porn? Where did you get this number, because there is absolutely no way to get a number like that about the internet without pulling it out of your a**.

Furthermore, the legal deffinition of porn is: creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire.

Now I don't know about you, but the avatars and sigs on here don't "stimulate sexual desire" in me. Furthermore, most of them have some sort of reedeming artistic value.

Yeah... a woman turning so you get a better look at her ass between her spread legs is real artistic on a cars forum, as well a toons bouncing boobs and the like. REAL artistic.

So what if porn actually makes 1% of the net versus 75%? The point is, there's MANY places on the net where you can get free porn, or free *art* as you would say, so there's no need to have porn or anything related on RD.

Just by reading these replies, I can tell who works in an office enviornment and who does not.

Yes, checking this site when you should be working is a moral issue. I check it several times a day when at work because I get brakes. I work a lot, so that is when I can check the site out, read new posts, and reply.

Now I don't want to piss anyone off, or hear a "freedom of speach", "free country" or "I can do what I want on the internet because there is no governing body" so I just have the avatars and sigs off.

Yes, I agree with Agarwal. Avatars is a quick way at telling who posts what. This way I can skip the kit-fox type posts and just read the posts of people who actually contribute to this site.

Its a shame that we have to disable all avatars because there are a select few who want to see where the line gets drawn.
