I just read this at work today. it was in a long list of survice bullitons. It said somthing like:
Symptom: gas pump clicks off when filling tank
TSB: try different gas stations (somthing like some pumps dont function with ours cars if not up to newer standards)
then, if it still doesnt work properly, investagate into the evap system.

+1 for the kink in the fill hose.
I get them at work all the time, and there is normally a belly somewhere in the hose. As long as the hose is at a downward slope to the tank, its fine. Over time those hoses will start to sag.
May not be your problem but surely something to look at.

Any updates from anyone here? I took rubber hose that goes to the filler neck vent, and didn't see anything stuck in there. I'm going to take some more pics and do some looking at the evap system to see if I can fix this this weekend. I'll let you guys and gals know.

It happens to me from time to time but only if I put the fill head in completely. Then it just won't start filling. What I do is pull a filler a bit out so it is in my tank's filling hole just a quarter of a filling head and under an angle (then it probably hits the wall of the tube slowing it down) and then it fills to the top without a problem.
