The first look real nice off the car, but hideous on. I like the second one way better. Not a big fan of 5 spoke. More of a slipt spoke type of guy. So those Zens look pretty good.

I went with the 10 spokers in the end. They are a fair bit lighter in colour than I'd hoped but it's all good... They'll look sublime covered in brake-dust! wink1.gif

I only managed a few quick cam-phone pics after I bought the rims & tyres this morning before work. Raining too so I'll take better pics when the weather clears a little.

I got Falken Ziex ZE512 215/40-17 tyres in the end. They gave them to me for the same price as the Kumhos & these are said to be better throughout the life of the tire whereas the Kumhos are only good for the first 5,000 to 10,000kms, apparently.

Driving to work in the crappy rain this morning has been one of the best drives I've had in this car for a long time. I managed to - responsibly - do speeds that matched my best dry-runs on this very familiar stretch of road. I'm very happy with the wet-traction of these tyres... we'll see how well they fair when the sun comes out fing02.gif

They go very well with the total image of the car.

Good choice.

My choice: (also 10 spoke)

those wheels look great on your car! fing02.gif Much better than the first wheels pictured.

As for the tires, I've gone through 2 sets of those tires over the years... Great traction, and I love the lip protection too... but they never seem to last too long. I only drove with those tires for 7-8 months of the year, and I went through 2 complete sets in 3.5 years. They wore evenly, so it wasn't an inflation issue, and I don't race or do burnouts, or drive like an a-hole generally... so I'm not sure what's up with them. They are listed as having a great treadwear too... Hopefully the Aussie roads will be gentler to you!

Nice choice Tim. I think you would've gotten bored with the others fairly quick. The new wheels r a bit bright aren't they wink1.gif

Cheers guys fing02.gif

phorq: I'll see how I go... Got recommended these by more than a few people. I was going to chance it with the Ecsta 712s but the fact that they were only 84W rated tyres would've meant that insurance would be "no worky" should I ever be involved in a prang sad.gif The load rating required for this car is a minimum 85 & V speed rating. These Falkens are 87W cool.gif

If they wear out too quickly, I'll consider other brands but if they perform well enough, I'll just get new ones.

I could've sworn they looked much darker on the rack in the wheel shop... They are much lighter than what I was originally after but I'm pretty happy with them overall. I should've got rims ages ago really... Makes a huge difference to the car!

the new wheels look nice, belive it or not on the base im at theres about 4 tibs, most i've ever seen at once lol, 2 RD2's 1 RD1 and a GK, those rims in the first post are actually on the GK and i must say... the rims themselves look ok...ish.. but they definitly dont look nice on a tib, even on a bigger gk, they just look to big and busy and messed imo lol,

nice choice on the ones you went with though smile.gif
