tire side wall seperation ?
Ok i have been running 215-40-17
Toyo proxy's fz4 for about 2 1/2 years
and have not yet been able to wear a tire out
out of 9 tires 6 have developed bubbles in the
sidewall's and three have large cracks in the sidewall's
ok i know pothole's kill tire's
out of the 9 only two are from actual pothole's
and i keep tire pressure up above 38 psi but below 42 psi and am sick of buying tires
when theres plenty of tread left on them
SO PLEASE Post Your actual tire experience
based on SIDEWALL STRENGTH

I always run between 30 and 33 psi for tire pressure. It might be the higher tire pressure that is killing your sidewalls.
My main experience is with Yokahama Parada's and Kuhmo 712's. Never had a problem with either. 8 tires. Both were on 17's.
I've never had a problem with stockers either (15's)
I know jaws021 has had problems with his Kuhmo's 712's on 17's.
One side note. I went with the cheaper/lighter 712 W speed rated rather than the 712 Z rated. Jaws021 always went with the "Z" rated 712's.

i was told by toyo when called them a year ago
not run less than 40 psi as it cause sidewall
pinching and bent rims they said the ideal tire pressure is 44psi for there tire but in the cold
months 44 psi means a rock hard ride
and the tires max pressure is 50 psi
and my wife has a set of bf goodrich for about 1 1/2 years at 40 psi no probs so i am going with diffrent tires just trying to decide on wich ones

that figure toyo gave you is probably a generic figure for the tires. it depends on the car and the climate. 40 sounds way too high, but i could be wrong. i know we're supposed to run around 30psi with stockers. what's the concensus with lo-pro tires?
my only experience is with parada spec 2's and ive had them for a year, theve hit pot holes, but still are fine. they are 205/40/17 and i was told to keep the psi at 32.
to me the psi your running sounds awefully high also.

i thought the psi sounded hogh to but after killing two new tires in less then three months
@ 34 PSI
i emailed (or flamed) toyo and there reply was
there tire require more air and that low pressure
pinches sidewalls but i have come to a conclusion that fz4's are not worth the money i just got a set 4 ventus HRII 405 205/40/17 for $220 shipped to my door and installed 2 on the front so far and they hook up just as good if not better dry and defenitly better in the rain
i could spin the proxys all the way thru second
and the HRII 405's so much cheaper i cant go wrong even if they dont last long
