What if you were to weld plate steel onto your rear sway bar to increase the roll stiffness? Would it even work? I guess it would have to be pretty springy steel.

Just sayin, if you wanted to improve the handling for free, or had a spare sway bar lying around, it would be a fun experiment.

just change out your end links to a solid piece. That will stiffen things up a little.

sway bars are often heat treated and i believe they're made of a special type of spring steel (vanadium)-... which is nearly impossible to weld.

most likely it'd do way more harm than good.

Best bet is to double-up on sway bars.

There are kits for some other imports that have double-bushings and special end-link brackets to hold a second factory/aftermarket bar to reduce roll.

wouldn't the twisting break the welds?

you're talking about welding a fixed piece of metal on a metal beam that twists from lateral twisting?

I was thinking that this would be one of the bigger problems. I'd say the plate would just crack off as a whole. Also heat treating spring steel = ?

No welding...

Basic idea is a bracket that both bars bolt to, then the endlink bolts to the bracket and the knuckle.
