blue, I would look into the Bilstien Touring class struts..they are made specifically to meet or exceed OEM specifications and are not desighned for high performance applicatons or lowering springs. That's why they're called Touring Class

Ok guys, i have an update. First, i will say that any type of group buy would be pointless. And, me purchasing them using my discount would also be pointless because shipping would be more than my discount.
HOWEVER, now is a great time to buy suspension parts for your car.
Right now, these struts are on sale for $59.99, regular price $79.99. Sears is also in the middle of a promotion that when you buy THREE Struts, you get the FOURTH... FREE!!! (mail in rebate).
So, for 4 struts, you're looking at paying up front $239.96. You do the mail in rebate, and you get a check in the mail for $59.99.
Total for 4 struts (take with) = 179.97
These prices, however, do not include installation. If you have the ability to press springs into struts, then you don't need them to do the install. If not, it is $50 a piece. so, $200 total for installation. This price, so i've been told, is cheaper than most competitors.
Do not forget about the alignment. it is required when you replace struts. That is $59.99 for a 4-wheel Alignment
so, here's what you're looking at if you have Sears install these:
Struts: 59.99 X 4 = 239.96
Install: 50.00 X 4 = 200.00
Align: 59.99 X 1 = 59.99

- 59.99 (mail in rebate)

Grand Total 439.96 + tax
Total savings: 59.99 (free strut) + 4x20 (sale price) = $139.99

Why buy from Sears?? Lifetime warranty on parts AND labor. You won't have to pay a DIME if these go bad. for part or labor.
Me and my manager both agreed that me doing everything and shipping out would be absolutely pointless. anyone can do this. Under $500 for 4 struts installed is a pretty f***in good deal. and you know what? go on Ebay and buy some lowering springs, and have them put THOSE on for you while doing the struts. No additional charge. (at least there shouldn't be)

Ok, let me rephrase the question. I don't need to know how to get them, where to get them, how much they cost or anything else. I need to know if they EXIST. (There is no attitude is previous statement, don't read any into it)
Does anyone know of any struts for the RD2 Tib that are OEM replacements OTHER THAN, the Monroe or KYB?

ummm... probably macphearson's. and other than that i believe those are the only 3 oem replacements available. ive looked around for any manufacturer of struts for our rd's and that is my conclusion.

Well, I did some extensive research on the matter a few months ago.
If you want to know what's been made, as to OEM direct replacement (ando characteristics, nothing noticeable better) it's:
Monroe
Sachs
Bogue
(I know Sachs/Bogue are the same company, but they have diff. part numbers).
Better than stock but still not "performance" struts:
KYB GR-2 (Gas filled instead of oil filled as all the above).
In the Performace category, there are plenty, but that's not what you want...
if you are REALLY interested, I can look for those part numbers, I remember I have them somewhere at home... but I doubt you will be able to get those struts, plus you woud spend a lot $$$ for OEM quality, don't think so.
I would recommend KYB, OEM price, MUCH better expansion rate, but not a lot more compression rate, so they are very comfortable, yet they provide better road handling.

I don't know what your project is but I don't see the point in putting stock pieces on your car when you can get performance pieces that cost less :?: Not to be rude or nuthin' but stock is garbage IMO, especially the suspension.
