I found one post that said that there is no change in fitment for 1997-2001 Tib's, but on all the sights that I've looked at they list 1997-1999 separate from the 2000-2001. Are they different or interchangable?

YES, they are interchangeable. pretty much the entire car is interchangeable actually, the main difference being the body. and dash.

Yeah, same same.

Trunklid, rear fenders, taillights, rear and front bumper, headlights, and dash thru the shifter surround are really the only differences.

Oh, and rims and hood.

In my best Elvis voice: Everything's the same, but different wink.gif

basically... on the body, save for the doors and front fenders.. if you can unbolt it.. it is different. There are also subtle differences between the Rd1 and the RD2 mechanically.. not much, but enough to be a headache if you have to order parts. I ALWAYS have to give my build date when I order emchanical parts.. mine is an RD1 in the body and interior.. but a RD2 in the drivetrain

Yeah, it seems that with hyundai all the rules get broken year to year. My tib is a 2001, but has the early style shifter and on the original window stick it showed the spoiler as an option and the dealership said that they installed it. Even though they wers suposed to be stock for the 2001 model year. I almost think that mine was actually a left over 2000 model that they just decided to call a 2001 so it would be easier to sell.

well, I found out the hard way on the engine. I..ahem... lost the oil drain plug after I forgot to tighten it all the way. It was cool though, heard it hit beneath the car and when I looked up to see what it was... it looked like something out a ww1 movie.. oilsmoke EVERYWHERE!

Anyway, the local autoparts places had plugs for the ealier cars.. but they would not fit mine.

i've noticed a lot of discrepencies w/ parts on tibs also. on my box for my Euro-tails, it said "99 and up". Last i knew, 99 didn't have the same tails as a 2000 :-P

They didn't, that's not Hyundia's fault, it's the idiots that make the products.

My gauge faces are labled 99-00 Tiburon from Bomz.

I've emailed them and they don't car.e

how many ebay auctions have you read "fits 95 through 99" tiburon? Many products are mislabled.. but if you know your car and the differences between it and the other gneration.. you can figure it out for yourself.
