Stock Wheel Stuck On Hub
Well, I was going to put my 17"s back on, and my front right tire wont budge from the hub! :angry:
My questions is:
How can I get it off the hub (while using the stock jack) without tipping the car over when jacked up?
It's wedged on there good! this is the last season that Im using the stock rims, so I dont car if they get dented or warped - screw 'em!

^^ Probably the best way to do it if you don't care if they don't get a little messed up.
On a side note, please go get a normal jack and some stands. We don't want you to get crushed when your changing your oil or something.

yes, i must stress this. go to walmart and get a normal jack right after you switch the wheels. the stock jack should be used as the sole jack in case of emergencies only. you should NEVER be underneath the car with that sucker. i got a cheap jack and some stands from walmart for like 50 dollars.
I have had this problem. My old excel was notorious for having the stock aluminum rims getting stuck to the brakes, especially the rear drums. I used to jack the car up so that the wheel was a couple of inches off of the ground and then sit myself beside the car. Using each foot, I would kick the tire, one foot kicking the right side of the tire, and then the other would kick the left in an alternating fashion. This would "rock" the bond loose that was holding the aluminum to the steel.
Just make sure the car is well secured.

Yea, definately be patient with it though. I had that happen to my front right tire when i hit a pothole and it left a bubble on the tire, when I went to change the tire, it wouldn't come off. I had to kick it a couple times while it was jacked up to loosen it similar to what Mad-Machine said, but keep in mind, I did this with a 8,000lb hydraulic lift holding it and stands underneath just in case...don't use the stock jack, i had my old car tip off one of those cheesy a$$ things and almost killed me...thank god i got a call on my cell that got me out from under there...

if you cant get it off by kicking the shit out of it..
seriously,, take off the lug/lock nuts
drop the car,
hop in it and drive forward and back a meter or so,
it'll break the bond no sweat. youll hear it break the bond.
stop jack it back up
take wheel off. B)

Yeah I got it off, ... I cheated.
Since I was afraid of the car falling of my crappy stock jack, I bit the bullet
and went to a garage.
I know, *sniff* im sorry *sniff* I could have done it easily myself, but the risk was too great
If the jack failed.
Cost me $17 bucks (CAN) and I heard them POUNDING the wheel from the waiting room!
So believe me, that wheel was really on there!
Funny story happened too:
The dude comes out, and says: "I can't put your rims on, the holes look like they have worn away - it's not safe!"
Im like: " Huh?"
Dude: "Come see"
So we walk in the garage, and he points to the 4x100 holes (that were opened up for clearance on my captive rotors)
Me: " lol, Oh no okay,... (I explain the clearance - captive rotor thing to him)
Dude: " hmm, okay then smile.gif
LMAO! lol.gif
The guy had me worried, and he had no idea about captive rotors - So I educated him tongue.gif
