Anywhere from 38 to 42 is fine

 

It's either +40 or +42... I don't remember which.

How wide are the rims that you are getting?

 

The Rims That I'm Getting Are 17"X7.5".

^ Then your rim'll be .75" closer to the strut & .75" closer to the fender. It shouldn't be an issue.

What size tyres are you getting?

 

205/40/17

 

205 tyres will be really stretched on a 7.5" rim & will most likely offer very little rim protection. I'd go wider.

Also, I'm not sure how strict your insurance companies are over there but I'd make sure the tyres are at least 85 load rated tyres (My car's spec anyway). Over here, if you're in an accident & they pick up on the fact the tyres are not at the correct load rating it can void your insurance.

 

i'd go 215/40/17 they fill in the wheel opening very well, but try and just get a 17x7 cuz nething wider just leaves no rubber past the edge of the rim for protection and looks horrible..and if your lowered like me, about 1.5-2 inches, it just looks awsome lmao.gif

 

Say i get these rims (17x7.5) with the 215/40/17 tire. Would that be better. Look alright?

 

I reckon it'd be better. The speedo wouldn't be too far off, the extra grip would be good & the ride comfort would be increased due to the sidewalls being slightly taller. It'll look better because it'll decrease the gap between the tire & fender. I don't think it'd hurt performance much (if at all) either.

Use the Miata tire caculator to check all the numbers... I think it's a sticky somewhere fing02.gif
