Shocks
I have had my 97 tib for like ever and I was wondering when should you replace the shocks, I want to get some after market ones, but not too familiar with what is really good at a reasonable price, I got about 105000 miles on these stock shocks and on the roads in san diego, it is rough, I had to pull over and make sure my wheels wernt coming off.....lol. Can some one give me some feed back.
you can go to a shop and they can do shocks diagnostic on special equipment.
In easy way you can bounce you car (on every one of 4 corners so you bounce all 4 shocks). car should bounce only once. (you press car with your hands down and release, car should bounce back and stop) if it continue bouncing that shock is bad.
Be careful not to damage hood, fenders, body...
Also if you have shock leaks - you need to change them.
If you have shaft play in your shock - againg you need to change them.

Chances are you need to replace them. I suggest some Eibach Pro Kits from Blacktibs @ flyryde.com Cheapest anywhere right now. Or you could check ebay, but they may be used.
I have 110,000 on my stock suspension. That is soon changing as well. D has it right on the test though. One "bounce" is all you should get at the most.. in reality, it should be fairly well controlled at all times.
