Tires
I am getting two new tires. The one I am thinking of getting is the Yokohama Avid T4. I did a search and came up with nothing and am wondering if anyone have ever had them and what they thought of them.

To me the Avid T4 is a little too passenger car-ish for my tastes with only a T speed rating. I owned a set of the Avid H4 and they are a more sporting tire but still with a decent tread wear rating. The latest H4 has a far superior tread wear rating to the ones that I had. Higher than the T4 as well but they are likely a more expensive tire.
If you do not like to do much spirited driving and just want a good all-around tire, go for it.

I just replaced one of my Nitto 440's with a Falken somethin or other.
I REALLY like that tire. (I had a freeway incident where I lost one tire.)
I will be replacing the other rear with the same tire this month, and swapping them to the fronts. Then the 712's I have will be replaced sometime this summer for more of those falkens. I'll post the info and such later. I really like that tire though.

If you want a tire that does everything decent, Kumhos may not be a bad choice.
If you want something for harder driving, Yokohama Parada-Spec IIs and BF Goodrich KDWs carry the Hamhead stamp of approval.

How sporty are the Kuhmo Ecsta MX? Anyone have tryed those? They are supossed to be the sportiest tires on the Kuhmo line.
I am going to to buy those or a set of competition tires, the Kuhmo's V70A which I am sure are going to make a diff. laugh.gif

i own the parada's on my tibby now. i wouldnt recomend them really, wet traction and handling is definitly not very good. plus there only a single A traction rating. the kumho 712's on my other car are definitly a better tire. i actually just ordered new tires to replace the paradas cause im so un-happy with them. ordered sumotumo (sp) htrz II's. im looking forward to them, and of course there doubleAA traction rating smile.gif

Nice, but don't forget to look at the total miles reported. The top ones only have 1 Million some odd miles, the Khumo's (Rated 91%), have over 29MILLION.
