heh thx optimo... I think i might as well just not be a cheap ass and get some motegi trak lites 15x6.5. They look hot and are only 10lbs
I have the 17x7-inch Motegi Trak_lite and they are AWESOME! I used them on my 1995 Ford Probe GT super street machine. The 17x7-inch weigh 14 lbs. and are super strong!
I just sold my Probe and swapped the wheels to these so I keep the Motegi's.
Now if only they would fit one the Tibby...
If you want 15's get the 15's. Just stating the wheels are awesome! Honestly I am not sure how people can get 17's under the RD2's.
I had originally bought 205/55ZR-16's and I rubbed the fenders under any kind of load while turning. I got 205/40ZR-16's and they had lots of clearence. This time I stepped up to 205/45ZR-16 so I could fill out the wheel openings a little better and still have clearence. I also have 16x7-inch Motegi FF6's on my '00 Tib. I just wish they had a 16x7-inch Motegi Trak_Lite availible.
As for spinning the tires too much, get the widest/stickiest tires you can on your wheels!
I like 17x7's for thier sweet look and superior handling capabilities. However I would not go any taller then a 23.8-inch overall diameter tire with the way the RD2 is set-up. For most tire manufactures that means 205/40ZR-17. Some mioght have a 215/40ZR-17 which I'd recommend if you could find them in under a 23.9-inch overall diameter. When I had the 205/40ZR-16 B.F.Goodrich's on the Tibby I didn't think the ride was too harsh. With the 205/45ZR-16 it rides awesome and still handles great.

I am unsure how you guys are getting away with them. I want to lower my car about an inch, however I know I'll probably start to rub the top of my fender lips again. Of course it doesn't look like you would enter too many driveways and such at speed...
I'd love to run 215/40ZR-17's on my Tibby. Motegi Track_Lites here I come (again)!
