I know this topic has probably been covered before but I tried searching for it and either im a sped or there isnt anything on it...

Does anyone know of any OEM rim's that have our bolt pattern and are light as hell... I.E. Elantra rims. Reason being, I want to pick up some rims from the junkyard for 50$ instead of spending 600 and paint them

hmmm that would be a good way to go, i would assume that our steelies are fairly light in comparison to stock rims.

im sure a more experienced memeber will be thru here in a minute with better answer.

Stock rims 99.999% of the time are cast, so your not going to find any lighter than our stock ones, or light enough to notice any difference over our stock ones.

pooo =/ I just thought that maybe thered be some other 4 lug 114.3 car out there with lighter rims then ours =/ maybe ones with a diff spoke design save a few lbs... everything helps... besides these tenzos i bought are getting destroyed with all the pot holes up by my school. The drive to class everyday is killing my car i now drive worse then old women.... on top of which i got a friggin dent in one already caause of some monster f***ing trench that went accross the entire road. Im beginning to wonder if its just aftermarket rims, or tenzo is shity.

steel rims are usually a bit heavier then there aluminum counter-parts. mainly cause think of the material alone. smile.gif

i think i read the stock rd2's rims were like 19 pounds or so. which is pretty heavy for a factory 15

here are some other 114 cars

AE86 corolla
4 lug 240sx
240zx
4 lug accord
integra type-r

the type r rims are ligher then our stock rim, i can pick it up with only 2 fingers. BUT there are 2 problems with that lightweight rim

1. good luck finding a set for anything under 400-500

2. there is a big red honda symbol on them

but that ITR rim is truthfully the only actual lightweight 114 rim i know of.

Might consider those too. $100/rim supposedly at discount tire (I'll know for sure later this week when I call them up) and very lightweight, although I don't have the number on me.
