I think one of my rims is leaking air..is there a way I can tell for sure? If so, is there a way to repair it?

Did you check the valve stem? Are you sure it's not the tire?

yes and yes

put your wheel in a water and look where bubbles come from.

that crack could be welded.

I've had two sets of tires on this set of rims, I'm pretty sure it's the rim.

do a submersion test (it's a pita to do, but it'll find the problem). And believe it or not, I had a leaky rim before the wheels I have now... there was literally a hole behind one of the spokes on the inner lip. Never seen anything like it before, never have again.

it's actually not all that rare with cast rims. Usually they catch it before it is sold though. I belive they are fixed by beadblasting the inside of the rim where the leak is.. this heats up and slightly deforms the metal, sealing the hole.

Haha.. I've had this problem. Did you hit a pothole or something?? That's what I did.. I slammed a pothole and bent my rim so bad that it was leaking air. My easy fix was to take a 20 lb sledge.. and lay a thick piece of rubber over the bent (for example a semi truck mudflap.. which I had readily available, lol) and just pound the living bajeezus out of it. Hey.. I figured it was worth a try.. might as well try and save me some money.. haha. It didn't f*** the rim up or anything.. actually fixed it. As for the look of the rim.. I took a deadblow hammer to it and pounded the lip bend out. You can still see where it was if you look.. but it looks a world of a difference better. You can try that or go ahead and buy a new one.. lol.

yep. i'm having this same exact problem right now. went through three brand new tires and after 5 months i'm still going to the free air pump twice a week...

fokking potholes is what it is. crack the rim. get a new rim.

sh*t costs me $150 down the toilet and my distributor went out of business and i'm having the hardest time finding a replacement. fokking Maryland. you all who don't live in this sh*thole should be lucky.

Take a spray bottle (you can get them from CT or Walmart CHEAP!!) and mix water and liquid soap together, spray that on the rim pretty heavily, you'll find little bubbles start to show where the leak is.

You could submerse it too, but (A) it's tougher to see, and (B) It takes quite a large space to submerse a Rim & Tire.

Try that and see what you can find.
