Replacing captive rotors bolts with flathead cap screws
#1
Has anyone replaced their captive rotor bolts with flathead cap screws?
If so, what size and how long of screw would I need for a 97 Tiburon.
I want to upgrade my rims and have found that my choices are limited with the stock hex head bolts. Using the flatheads would allow the rims to sit flush against the rotors and I would have a larger choice of rims.
What do you think?

Not that I know of, most folks just do a captive to not captive swap.
Do a search at HA.com man, there are MANY posts about it.

yes, you could but then you'd be compromising the sturctural integrity of your wheels.
Would you really want to do that to one of the two parts that support the whole weight of your car????

SOME New goodies
I don't want to cause myself any future problems. I was just hoping that someone had done this with success. Swapping to a non captive setup sounds like a lot of work. It really sucks how limited the selection is for rims that fit captive rotors.
Can anyone with captive rotors tell me where they bought their rims at on the internet.
The dealers in my area want your life savings and your first born child for a set of rims and tires.
