Hey, i have read alot of the posts on here and i may have a couple of things that need done. First, i replaced my rear brake pads and now 85% of the time if i hit the break (medium rare to cooked)[only system i could think that would give a good indication of how i was breaking] i hear a best described as a single *knock* depending on how hard i hit the breaks. I dont think i feel it in the pedal, maybe a little. Could the rear pads being brand new get stuck to the rotor? 2nd, Will a warped rotor make a scraping sound against the brake pads when moving? I replaced the front pads to see if that was the problem and i still get a what sounds like scrapeing. last, if i replaced the rear brake pads shouldnt my pull of my e-brake be very little, i was able to crank that sucker down quite a bit (over 10 clicks my estamate). Should that not be very tight now?

 

I have this same issue with a BIG BRAKE REAR kit i have installed and the Knocking sounding your hearing when you hit the brake pedal areyour pads that are loose.
I bet if you attend to your rear pads you can actually move them slightly if you wiggle them with your fiingers.
This is whats causing your problem with the knocking sound
When you installed your new brake pads did you install the new CLIPS that came with the pads OR did you reuse the old ones?

Solution to fix this is to install new brake pad clips or double them up to tightened the pads.
In the meantime ITS NOT dangerous that you hear this sound but just anoying

I didnt reuse any parts from the old brakes. Can you just go and buy new clips? anything on the e-brake issue. well not issue but concern? Also a comment on the warped rotor would be nice.

 

Ya you can buy them from the dealer, cheap. I had that exact same problem.

 

Problem fixed. bolts were not torqued to spec. no more knocking. Thanks Guys!
