basically.. because the rears have the parking brake, they are self adjusting. Everytime you apply the handbrake, the mechanism tries to turn the piston and advance it outwards. This is the self adjusting feature. In order to push the piston back into the bore, you need to turn it so the adjuster releases.

So what would all the tools need to do this be. I have to replace my rear pads and dont wanna pay the 60 bucks in labor. and then could someone tell me HOW to actually do this, if someone has the time.smile.gif

Just digging this up from never never land b/c I forgot all about this freakin tool and now my Tib is sitting my garage on it's jack waiting until an AutoZone with the tool opens because none of the 24hr AutoZone's have it! I want to hopefully keep someone else from doing this samething. Make sure you have this tool if your going to do your rear brakes yourself! :angry:
