Painting Brake Calipers
Yup, I used a $5 bottle of silver 1200 degree paint. I cleaned the calipers really well with some lacquer thinner and applied three thin coats. Looks nice and it also gave me a chance to clean the inside of my rims. It's a lot better than that crappy brown metal. Hasn't chipped/faded/cracked or anyhting for three months. Only time will tell though. If you have the money you should probably get a Folia-Tec Caliper Painting Kit.
Here's what mine look like. Let me know if you have any questions. Always glad to help out.

I did mine with VHT brake caliper paint and a year and half later no chips or cracks and what's nice about the VHT paint it's glossy so my calipers actually look like I cleared them. Oh and the paint withstands heat up to 1200 degrees.
Same here, I sprayed mine with 500 F Engine enamel. I hope that's good enough. Its all the shop had. My mistake was buying one called "Chevrolet Engine Red." In the sun, it looks dark orange. The paint hasn't flecked yet, but when I do re-apply, I will go darker.
I didn't remove the caliper. I blocked out the disc and panels with garbage bags and shoved peices of foam in the holes. The discs remained clean. I scrubbed the calipers with varsol first and dried thourally. After that, the paint stuck really well.
