FYI, I have 205/17/45 on my 02 Accent. With the front lowered 1.2in and the back not lowered. The front is good, but if i try to lower the back it will rub. Anything bigger than 205 will rub. Hope this helps
i thought i would toss this question in the mix. If im going for atleast a 1.5 drop both in the front and rear, would 205/40/16 be pushing it, i mean would i have to worry about rubbing with any load?

1.5 should be fine in the front. I could also be 1.5in instead of 1.2in. Its been 5 yrs now since i lowered my car, I kinda forgot. But either way i still have some room to go in the front.
Now in the rear, all i can speak of is the 2in drop I had. It was fine driving on a flat perfect road. But in a real world its not flat so any time I would drive on the freeway or down a not so good road it would rub. Not to mention everytime I went around a corner it also rubbed, no matter how slow I was going.
Here are a couple of shot of my car with the 17 on and the front only lowered.

The 205/40/17 is shorter by almost a full inch than 205/45/17, so the radius is almost a half inch less.
I know lots of people with a 1.2-1.5" lowering on an Accent with 205/40/17's that don't rub. In the back it's the increased radius that really kills you.
If you get your backspacing wrong you can also rub, either against your strut or against your fender lip. If it's close though you can make them fit with some minor mods without rubbing.
