ok so installed my new nex coil overs and now i am getting this "nails on chalkboard" sound whenever i hit a bump, coming from the front right coil over. it sounds like something is loose and moving up and down, but i tightened everything i believe. what does the Allen key thing on the top do? when i turn the bolt on the top it does not tighten it just spins, im so lost on this, and to top it off my steering wheel is not straight when i drive so i think im in for an alignment 02.gif

i think i need to figure out how to use these things. how do you adjust if it is hard or soft?

i mean really man, dont you think you should do some research on things like this before installing them? kinda dangerous not to eh?

damping settings are adjusted by the long keys you stick in the top of the strut.

Man how gay, I cant stand when they dont include a top mount! So we have to use the stock upper mounts or what? If its anything like the B&G coilovers I have on both my tibs, than you may have too much travel on the threaded post to comes through the top of the Stock upper mount. You know right where the nasty goop is under the cap? So see if you can take that cap off, and look at the top nut when you push down on the fender to make the spring compress. If you notice that its coming up a bit, you might need to get a washer with a large center hole, that's not too big to fit down in the top mount.

That might sound confusing, but its what I had to do with my B&Gs because there was some excess travel, and it made my car sound like ass. Squeeky business, like the front suspension was really springs from a cheesy motel bed. Take pics of the top of the mounts when you do this if you can, and also show pics of the rear coilovers too if you have em. I'm about to start carrying this brand, and I want to check em out a bit better.

What aboue camber adjustment? No pillow ball top mounts available from NEX?

How are those NOT adjustable? They are threaded and have the jam perches to compress the spring.
