QUOTE (tdonnell @ Apr 17 2006, 09:23 PM)
It doesn't look like the pads are contacting the entire surface of the rotor. Like the pad isn't wide enough or something. Huh...
Definately looks killer though, could you take a pic of the entire car from the side? Also, do they let you choose the color of the calipers? Thanks.

What do you mean it snot contacting?

Since you dont even have 1 km on the new kit, it makes sense that it doesn't look right. You should however break the pads and rotors in. If you don't know what that means hopefully your mechanic does. Good luck with it man.

you can see the area where the pads do not touch the rotors. there is a silver ring around the rotor hat, and then the duller area where the pads meet the rotor face under braking. this is because the calipers&pads accept a range of rotor diameters, and a lot of times the same rotor hats will be used for slightly different sized rotors.

for example, a 11.66 and 12.19 inch rotor both use the 8x7" hat bolt pattern, so there is a little extra friction surface on the larger rotor. WW pads are matched to the caliper as well, so rotor size doesnt matter at all as far as pad selection goes. i dont like the look, but i dont think it will hurt anything.

Im thinking its because the car has not been driven and less than 1Klm around the block from my machanic...
Basically its the SIlver shiney part on the rotor where its showing there contact and the dull area near the Top of the rotor where there is no contact.
Im thinking its because the pads havent seated in yet?
Agree?

Also how long should it take for the rotor to look that Shiney look when breaking?
Basically after a new rotor and pad install

Can it also be a sign that th ecaliper is not lined up staright against th erotor or like i said its still to soon to tell and drive the car for another 100klm
