What would be the best way to go for the best possible handling, without dropping down a whole lot.

I wasn't saying he had to go for the coilovers. Just that saying Coilovers for $1000 is too expensive is kinda dumb. If you want coilovers but can't afford it, then save up.

But if your budget is less than $500-$600, go with springs/damper setup. Or even just springs make a difference at under $250.00.

i was refering to redz saying anything other then the NEX set up is "dangerous".

cheap ebay coilovers can be, but thats pretty obviouse if your paying $30 bux for them and hoping for a good ride and high quality...

I didn't say that everyone uses nex. Hell, I know of maybe one person. I meant "Cutting/Heating/compressing" springs as being dangerous, and that sounds like what he's doing.

The $30 coilovers are that price for a reason. Ask ABQElantra.

LOL

I personally run Eibach Dampers and HKS Hard Rated springs.

I love it.

I don't think anyone said that the Nex system was $1000. I used that figure as just that, a monetary point to shoot at. I said SUSPENSION. Suspension is more than just your struts and springs. Sway bars, strut bars, endlinks, are all part of your suspension.

My HKS springs cost me $30 shipped. Yes, that was a fluke, but that's what they cost. The struts I got for under $400. Sway bars will go for around $300 to $400 for both total, and endlinks like whitelines, are about $100 each.

That's around $1000 there, and not counting the actual cost for springs for most everyone else, or the cost of the strut bars.

I believe the NEX systems are like $800 to $650.

If that's too much to replace your springs and struts, find a new hobby. LOL

wow, this thread went to crap really fast.. people just cant read i think..

ok, ill actually help this guy..

for a cheap, good suspension your going to pay about 400-500$ for springs and struts..

for coilovers, NEX (~650$), others (1000$+) but the others have more adjustability.

can we please stop with the OT crap though..

Not to hijack, but this question will probably help us both.

What would you guys recommend for a decent drop and increased handling, but not be so crazy hard when hitting bumps in the road?

Would the NEX system give you this? Or will they just give you a drop and a very stiff ride that will only feel nice on a track?

------------------------------------------------------------

I rode with stock struts and Intrax springs for awhile, and the ride was terrible when it came to bumps. It gave me a nice drop that looks sick, but it was just too rough at highway speeds. So don't go the lower springs/stock struts route!
