ill still take an MSR or konig wheel any day over some overpriced 550$ wheel.

Not sure what quality those imaitations were or how much force it took to crack them.. if i had wheels on a vehicle that were knockoffs or real, i wouldn't plan on getting t-boned and having that type of force exerted on them anyways.

yeah, some potholes may take a toll on a cheap wheel, but id still rather pay 500$ for a set of 4 really nice konigs over spending 2000$ on some 'japanese' 'name brand' wheel..

what types of wheels are considered knockoffs anyway? any wheel that doesn't cost 2000$ for a set of 4?

If your wheels came from China or Taiwan, 99.5% of the time they're low pressure cast. Those are the one's that break. What's a knock off you ask? Any part that looks like a high end part that's not. If it was made in China, there's a good chance it's knock-off. I use a real simple test... I've been in the car biz for 20 years. If I haven't heard of them, they're knock-off.

I try to avoid non name brand wheels, and certain lower end wheel makers. I have no problem with Konig, Enkei, etc. wheels that are styled like a much more expensive model. I'm not personally going to buy Drag wheels, or other wheels in that category.

Funny

We are all driving vehicles that were considered knock offs at one point

Not me... I drive a Mustang, the "original" ponycar.

BTW, I wouldn't consider Enkei is the same group as Konig. Enkei makes some serious race rims. My 18x9.5" RPF1's were 18.5Lbs.
