So I just finish the non-captive swap, went to put my wheels on, and the lug studs are about 10mm too short.

The hubs I got were from a 2001 tib and didn't come with lug studs.

I ordered brand new lug studs from rockauto.com. Here's the link. They are at the top of the list. Dorman #610276

I called rockauto and they could help me at all. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm thinking of buying these because it looks like they only need 15mm of thread to mount properly.

I'm stuck with a car that can't drive so any input would be very helpful!

I got studs from autozone and they were too short. I got them from the dealership, they didn't have any so they used some from a Sonata. They were the same length. All you need is the right thread size and to find some that are a little longer. Call dealer

^^^ Sorry I should have been more clear. The ones I got from rockauto were too short. Just didn't realize until after I had presed them in mad.gif

Why don't you just call the dealership and get specs on the studs, and if they're out of stock see if an older Sonata matches up? They were probably less than $2 each from the dealership.

arp's wheel studs are listed somewhere on the site-... they're super long though so you'll have to cut them down a bit

01steve, you forgot to say " . . . and dress the threads with a file because otherwise you'll end up with a stuck lugnut galled solid onto a new stud that's F'd up now"

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I was on a tight schedule (finished the car tuesday night, get to body shop by wednesday morning) so I had to think of a quick fix. This is what I came up with.

The fronts are now both spares. They were the only wheels I could find that allowed the lug nuts to go on far enough.

The car will only be driven a few miles like this so I don't think it should be a problem.

As for a more permanent fix, I'm going to try the wheel spacers. I ordered the 15mm ones which should hopefully mount fine because I have about 16mm of lug stud to work with.

If the wheel spacers don't work or are just generally crappy I'll defiantly go to the dealer and get proper studs. I will also call rockauto with the correct lug stud measurements and let them know. It's pretty crappy that so many people have been having this problem.

Here are some pics of the spacers.
