Getting the right wheels -- And thoughts on Motegi Wheels
I have a 1998 Tiburon and i have the Gunmetal Motgei MR12'
I went through hell..but in the end the work fine..they took out the bolt and put a super super small spacer on it about a little bit thicker than a cardboard box..
how do i like them?
So far so good..my dealer said they would make nosie and rattle at high speeds and my steering wheels would shake..
None of that so far
so must be good i hope

Hey slipstream you have a 2nd gen tiby right? If so you can remove those screws with no problems. Random has made many posts on this subject in the past. On the newer tibs they have non-captive rotors and the two screws can be removed. But on the older ones they have captive rotors and the bolts cannot be removed.
BTW the lug pattern is 114.3 not 114 there is a difference. If you want to look at more wheels in that pattern look under a honda accord they have the same lug pattern as our cars.

Doh...well thanks anyway Green.
Guilty, I heard but I never underastood about captive rotors...until now. I knew about the 114.3 bolt pattern, I just keep forgetting the decimel. The rep from 1010 has now updated his database so now 1010 ofers wheels for Tiburons...I've done my good deed for the day. smile.gif

Slipstream...Were you asking if Motegi Mr12's will fit on a tib? Here ya go.
They are 17x7.5" with a +40mm offset and 205/40 17 rubbers. They had to remove those stupid little screws and I haven't had a problem in over a year! Probably any rim wiht the right bolt spacing and offset will work if you rmove those little screws. All of this info. is for a 2nd gen TIB ofcourse.
Hope this helps!

You are a godsend Zeek! Thanks so much. You even picked the same wheel and tire size as me so I can even judge how the wheels look. Thank muchly!! Now...here is a followup...what brand of tires do you have?
SLipstream..no problem man. I have Falken Ziex ZE-502 Rubber. Good tires... sticky enough for racing, enough tred for a good snowstorm drive. Here's a better closeup of the wheel, if it works.
I need to get some lowering springs soon, and I think SR is going to start carrying Eibach's at a good price. It would look hella tight with a drop..mmmmm....
