The ones i had were not solid.. but enough to crack the frame

I have yet to hear of an RD2 with that problem

Hopefully we can get some pics up, as i will have to think of something to reinforce the dam frame.

I've posted a picture of my reinforced frame for my car.

Bad news is labour and parts cost $500US.

Well im planning on doing it myself. Just curious WTF they did to reinforce it.. theres not much you can do down there, since the whole front is weak.

Thanx a lot for the pics though.

My new RD2 frame
Ill be installing it sometime this week. Any one have any ideas on how to reinforce it? My dad suggested welding pieces of steel all over the front frame..
Im worried that would just make it crack in between the fragmented pieces of steel.

The 01 frame looks exactly like my 99 (the bottom portion that is).

ok i think i found out why this only happens to RD1s

Attachment 124

The rd2 has two extra support brackets. The rd1 doesnt. The top of the front frame of the rd2 also has a larger surface area, which helps spread the weight around considering its extra points.

This is the bottom of my rd1 top front support
Attachment 125

I did find one possible place where a support bar could be added...
[attachment=228:attachment]
Front one of the center points to the drivers side, side crash bumper mounting point. Its metal... beefy.. and could absorb some weight.

Unfortunately we cant do the same for the passengers side.. The condernsor gets in the way, which would make things impossible,... unless removed.
