well today i was going around a corner, the roads were bad, so i wasnt speeding or anything obviously...but basically i turned, the car fishtailed a little and then went into a slide. ended up hitting the curb / snowbank pretty hard with my front right wheel. probably at about 10-15mph.
the wheel got pushed way back towards the door and into the fender. it rubs always, can't drive it anywhere. and im pretty sure the rim is cracked.
soo ended up having to get it towed..now the guys are gonna look at it and call me later today to tell me what's wrong 02.gif
what u guys think is wrong with it? tie rod / ball joint? maybe just way out of alignment and bent rim? mm...i was supposed to go home tonight and install my new exhaust! looks like that's not gonna happen .. and loon_wulf already bought and paid for my mbrp (which is currently on my car) 2 weeks ago, he's gonna be kinda pissed i bet..sorry bro.
anyway, i hate icey roads. damnit. this sucks.

wow man that suxs. Sorry to hear about it.
I got the curb with my eclipse being stupid a couple of years ago, bent the lower control arm, ruined some bushings and twisted my frame. I hit it at 35-40 tho so it was quite a bit faster. Hope your is something nice and easy.
dont worry about the exhaust, shit happens i know how that goes. Get your car working then worry about it lol

take the exhaust off your car
ship exhaust
might have to replace axle and rim/tire... possibly replace fender if it's badly damaged
not too bad from the way you've described it.

i saw easily 20+ cars in ditch's today, this storm is pretty bad for the little bit of snow its leaving, the wind blowing the snow has been the biggest issue.
and i even got over 300+ miles down in this weather today at work!!! not even more then a slide for me. i owned.gif driving in this crap!

Dang dude, sorry to hear that...something similar happened to me, a lil bit more than a year now, but in my case I lost one of my 17" rims (about 1 1/2 months in use) 02.gif . I bent the arm, tie rod, and can't remember what else mad.gif
i nailed a curb at about 25 and did some serious damage to mine. about 1700 for the dealer to fix it because i had no time or real knowledge. anyway the axle was fine which was my big concern. IF somehow you can fix it yourself you can get it done cheap. im assuming the damage is similar to what mine was

k i called the garage today and this is what he said..
right control arm
axel shaft
spindel
strut
then he said 285 for parts, and 330 for labor.
doesn't it seem like if all that was bad, that parts AND labor would be a LOT more? replacing an axel's a lot of work ..
the problem is that the car is 1 hr from my home, otherwise me and my dad could probably get the parts cheaper and do it ourselves, but you can't even get a tow strap on it because the wheel is pushed so far in that it rubs. it would have to be flat bed all the way..

can you get it on a two-wheel?
and don't tow in the snow. you'll make more problems for yourself.
these are the WORST type of accidents. I know how to drive in the snow damn well, and I still had one of these.
A simple right hand turn at an intersection(it was angled so the turn was more than 90degrees) and the road humped at the intersection. Meaning it was uphill to the light and around the turn, the downhill after the turn, slightly. From a stop, I was going like 5mph, ...simple righ turn. Trying to avoid the inevitable rear slide after making the turn but alas it happened anyway, of course the brakes could do nothing and steering was pointless. I was going so slow I saw the whole thing happen, LOL. I was seriously looking out the window right at the curb, then my tire, then the curb thinking "Noooooooo" and I opened my driver's door and tried to stop the car with my foot (propped on the curb).
I ended up with a scratched rim and a hurt knee. LOL.

exactly how i felt..i was looking right at it, i hit the brakes, nothing, i cranked the wheel in the opposite direction and floored it thinking maybe i could get a little traction in the other direction, but all that did was rev the engine and then about 1 second later BAM. as soon as i hit the curb i knew it was bad.
i was looking on ebay looks like i can get most of those parts used cheap, and maybe ill just upgrade all my shocks/struts. anyone have any recommendations?
