i talked to the guy at the shop with my tib today .. he said these were the parts that needed to be replaced:

a-arm
axle shaft
sway bar
hub
spindle
knuckle
strut

285 for parts, about 350 for labor.

im kinda suspension retarded..could someone explain this to me a lil bit too?
is an a-arm the control arm? and what's a sway bar? isnt hub/spindle/knuckle all one part?
could i find those parts from an online junkyard for a lot cheaper than 285? and i think im just gonna replace all the struts/shocks, instead of just one.

i think for replacing an axle and all of that 350 for labor is pretty good..i know an axle's a lot of work. i wish i could get it to my garage to do it myself though, but between school and living 1 hr from home and the car not even being roll-able....its kind of hard. it would cost as much to get a tow to my house as it would to just let the shop fix it. 02.gif

what u guys think?

Prices for both the parts and the labor don't seem too bad.

yeah, thats a good quote. Here just the axel, sway bar, and Aarm would probobly cost you that much. im sure you COULD get it cheaper off ebay, or at a junkyard. With the extra work tho id say just pay the nice people to fix it for you laugh.gif

holy crap thats a good deal..

sway bar is like a strut bar, but it connects the struts together and is attached by the endlinks..

you musta really hit something hard to need a sway bar and an axle shaft as well as all that other stuff..

that seems like a really good price for the parts and all labor though.. i would get some aftermarket struts/springs and throw some on at the same time though..

a-arm is same as control arm.. that piece alone is something i would never wanna have to change..

That's a really good price, but be sure they don't try to charge you for more after they've started working on it. They might find it was more than expected and want more $$ from you.

they said about 6-7 hours for labor, which seems about right i'd say.
i found all those parts on ebay except the sway bar.

are there aftermarket sway bars i can buy at a reasonable price?

i honestly didn't think i hit it that hard...i guess i was wrong. lol.

Junkyard!! lol thats where I got my suspension parts from when I damaged the tib.

i got a control arm, axles, basically all the suspension parts for one side of the car.

The quote for all my parts (which included a new door) was 4k. I paid 2k because I went to the junkyard. You save money and the parts are good.
