I've had my tires balanced once (with the purchase of 4 new tires), already ... this was happening with the tires I had on when I bought the car too. However, I never did specifically ask that the balancing of the new tires be done using a "roadforce machine". Thanks for the tip, only1tib, I'll give that a try in Jan after putting in the kyb struts.
damn!! I was betting that that was the cause of the problem! Let's see if the wheel balance using a roadforce machine, helps.

Have you checked to make sure both axles are balanced. I had a violent steering wheel vibration, and one day i jacked both front tires off the ground and removed them. I put the car in first gear and watched them rotate and the passenger side axle was bent. my .02 cents

A new one is about 50 dollars after core charge. And i changed it myself in a gravel driveway on some jack stands. It took less than 2 hours, but i wouldn't go replacing anymore parts until you figure out what the vibration is. A bent axle can cause steering vibration, but that is just a suggestion to look into. Do a visual rotating inspection first, if its bent you will be able to see it.
