17x7" will be your normal size for 17s.
Stock offset is +42.
I use +40 on my setup, no rubbing. Eibach 1.2" Lowering Springs.
According to Random, you can run up to +35 offset with no rubbing. Just make sure at +35 you have 205x40/r17s because 215x40(or 45)/r17s will cause you to rub due to the slightly wider diameter tire.

Thanks Spiffy, you the man,
what about 18's, there was a red tib i saw at xtreme autofest with gold 18's, i didnt ask the offset size or if they rubbed, but i bet they did cuz they were like 1/4 inch from they wheel well.
40 is a nice offset but, what will make the edge of the rim look flush with the fender especially in the rear, they look so tucked in, would a 30 be totally flush?

Motegi's MR7's, which I'll be getting in the summer are 17x7, 40mm offset. Compared to my old ones which were 16x7, 42mm offset. I plan on wrapping the 17's in Dunlop SP Sport F901's, 215/40/17. You probably won't find anything less than a 38mm offset, not on rims that are going on a FWD vehicle. At least that's what I've been told.
Don't forget that the stock rims of the Tib are probably 6" inches wide, compared to most 17" aftermarkets rims, which are probably 7. Even if you had the same offset, half of the difference would bring the setup closer to the fender.
