Default Brake Fluid vs. Clutch Fluid

Hi I read that brake fluid and clutch fluid are the same thing. Does that mean replacing the brake fluid is the same as replacing clutch fluid.

Or are the brake fluid and clutch fluid two different things that need to be changed, but use the same fluid?

Also how often should I change the clutch fluid. There is no mention in my Chilton manual.

Thanks for the help.

Same stuff, bleeding is about the same, and for how often.. open the cap. I know on my XD it would start to turn grey/look like crap. Good time to change it once it does that.
