So Ive got the whole front suspension dismantled, we're putting in new struts and lowering srpings. We just replaced the tie rods, and the ball joints were done by a mechanic about a month ago, but apparently he didnt seat the boot properly. Not only that, but the boots on either side are cracked, so I need new ones. I went to Hyundai and they cant get them in till Thursday. I need them right now. Auto Zone only selles the ball joints. My biggest problem is I have limited time and money. I think it would be fine if I stuck the boots back in for 2 days until I get the new ones from Hyundai. WHat do you guys think? Im about ready to torch this car with all the problems Ive been having with it. Seriously, its just too much of a hassle. Now apparently I need a new control arm too, cause Jed snapped a bolt. Fvcking lovely.

coat them in some rubber cement... LIGHTLY to keep them from breaking. Should hold up a while longer.

You want JUST the boots for the BJ's????

Is that even possible? Sounds like asking for JUST the friction material on brake pads... wtf.gif

that's a good idea. But, now one of them mysteriously vanished. I dont know what the fvck is going on with this car. Im about to light it on fire.

And yeah so far everyone has said to buy just the ball joints, so, guess i have to buy new ball joints again.

haha.gif check your tool box, or inside the armrest pocket! That's where parts I loose always end up.

It's not that big of a deal to ask for a boot without the part. I'd make one before driving without one. Heck, tear one off another car at a junk yard and zip tie the fuxor in place.

about 2 years ago I gouged one of my steering boots with a drill when i was making a hole in my firewall. I cleaned it with alcohol, used some rubber cement, then put a bicycle tire patch on it. It's held up fine since.
